At Positek.net, our philosophy of service includes helping our clients to help themselves. IT support costs can easily skyrocket out of control, and we help our clients understand where technology provides significant value and return on investment, and where it 'looks good, but doesn't do much'. Many of our clients have no IT budget per se, so we work to help them learn what functions they can do themselves without a lot of training, knowledge, or experience. Part of Positek.net's assessment/recommendation cycle includes learning what you have in terms of 'people power', and how to use that effectively to support technology systems without compromising their 'regular' workload.

Positek.net expends considerable effort in comparison testing of technology products. We learn the strengths and weaknesses of various competing products, and formulate our recommendations to meet our clients' most urgent needs. We feel that all this work shouldn't be reserved for just our paying clients, and so we make much of our knowledge available via this website. Folks can help themselves to whatever is available, and freely share it with their colleagues and friends. This is not a marketing effort, but (we feel) a public service. We believe that computers and computing has gotten too complicated for the average person to be able to keep up (unless, of course, it is your business). So you'll find many checklists on this site to make it simpler to accomplish technology tasks with less effort.

As the company's principal consultant, Mr. Gardner's experience includes over 17 years of federal government experience using and managing a wide variety of technology systems including server-based networks, telecommunications systems, and IT service organizations.

Positek.net focuses on providing outsourced Chief Information Officer (CIO-strategic) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO-tactical) services to small business and home offices that cannot afford to retain IT expertise in-house. We maintain an extensive list of local and national vendors and providers of IT services and products. Our primary initial efforts include assessment, reports and recommendations, and referrals to 3rd party services or product vendors. Existing clients retain us for ongoing technology support management (including contractor oversight), advice and guidance on future technology needs, network security and other assessments, and testing.
